We had one busy weekend!
We had a ton of running to do, a vet visit for Aurora (our newest addition to our house, a kitten), and lots of things to finish up for our booth space. We sold our Pottery Barn Table and Chairs, so we have quite a gap that needs to be filled.
I thought I would share a few of the projects from this weekend.
This is a little side table/night stand that I painted in a mix of Lexington Green and Light Cream Old Fashioned Milk Paint. I used the extra-bond on this piece. I wanted a distressed finish, but not a chippy finish. After the paint dried, I decided it needed to be toned down a bit. It was a little more green that I wanted it. So I white washed it with more Light Cream OFMP. Then hand waxed in clear and dark wax. I also added a new knob.
Just some different angles and close ups of this one.
I also put together some more vintage silver plate spoon hooks. I have been meaning to get to this for quite some time and just hadn’t done it. Here are several and I have 2 more in the garage that need spoons attached.
I saved my VERY FAVORITE project for last. I am really having a hard time telling myself I am going to sell this. I guess….I will just need to make one for us! Not really make one, just recover the one I already have. I made one of these about 12 years ago for myself…so really I just need to recover mine!
Drum roll please!
This is my Faux Grain Sack, re-purposed vintage suitcase ottoman!
I love the look of the vintage grain sacks, but they are too expensive for my budget! At least the ones I have found. So I improvised! I used a painters drop cloth, cut my own stencil (since painting on fabric can sometimes be tricky) for the pattern I wanted and “made” my own grain sack (I will share this in another post). I covered my foam and attached it to my vintage suitcase and gave it some feet!
I LOVE the results!
What do you think?
Ciao for now! Kellie

13 years agoYou were busy! I loved each and every project, but the ottoman was so clever, and I loved the faux grain sack. Keep up the good work… you're quite good at it!
