Where does one start? The Pauper’s Castle has been an ever-changing journey since 2010. It started from a small rental place inside an antique shop with repurposed items and restyled furniture (now closed) focused on my love of furniture, painting, and reinventing the old into something new and fresh. You can see many of these items in the OLD posts. However, I caution you, these posts are from the early days when I started back on blogger (Blogspot, way back when) and they lack in quality in many ways. We had run out of personal space at home, so to keep the creative juices flowing my husband, and I started this little space at the antique mall. We loved it, but with a small child, we couldn’t give both the attention they needed. So we closed that chapter to focus on family.

I still needed a creative outlet, and my daughter was highly imaginative, loved her princesses, and was very particular about her princess costumes. My Etsy shop evolved from creating many of her princess costumes (open since 2010). For about four years, I was heavily involved in sewing for my shop. What I realized, it wasn’t so much the sewing I loved, as it was about the creativity and inventing new costumes. It was about quality imagination time with my daughter, dreaming up costume details together, and get lost in imagination with her. As she outgrew this fantasy stage, I guess my passion and push slowly dimensioned as well. I still have my Esty shop. I enjoy the creative aspect and the excitement from serving my customers (I really love it when they share photos) but miss the mother-daughter moments that we created because of my Etsy shop. You can still find these fun costumes, accessories, and Disney Bounding handmade clothing that my daughter and I created together in imagination in my Etsy Shop. If you have an idea, I’m always open to listening, and we can dream together.

In 2016, I became an independent travel planner with Reach for the Magic Destinations. We LOVE Disney, and I can sit for hours and chat with you about it. For our family, this is our happy place. Since 2012, we have been 11 times. I won’t bore you our vacation details. Still, if you are looking to plan a Disney vacation, Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Dinsey Cruise Lines, or possibly a Universal Vacation, I would love to help your family create some magical memories.

More to come…about what I do now and why.
