I am overwhelmed by all this!  Thanks ladies!

Last weekend we painted our walls, added Part 1 of the “Beadle Modified Version” of crown molding, and stenciled a focal wall in the dining room.  You can read more about that here.

After all those projects, we began the rehanging of our “Family Tree” on some salvaged shutters. Todd is the one that does all the picture hanging in our house. He is very precise and everything has to be just perfect! When I hang pictures, I eyeball it, and put the nail in the wall.  If it’s not quite right, I just move it over.  I am not patient enough to get out the level and measure.  Needless, to say, he doesn’t like my way, so he takes over.  However, on this project he threatened not to rehang them (they were a pain the first time). As you can see in the picture below, they were perfectly spaced!

I had originally planned to hang these in another location, but I couldn’t get them all to fit without splitting them up and I didn’t want to do that.  This grouping is our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. For me, that’s what makes this grouping so special.
So back above the sofa they went.
Only this time, we hung salvaged shutters behind them.  Although they are the same pictures, the new arrangement and the new wall color makes the whole grouping new and refreshed.  Funny how a simple change can make all the difference.

The shutters we found at a little antique mall just outside the city and were originally headed for our booth space. The longer they hung around, the harder it was becoming to think of getting rid of them. Right now…I’m really glad I didn’t.  Prior to the new paint color, they didn’t work at ALL in our home.  But now…the are PERFECT!
Just a simple switch to a vertical grouping makes the ceilings feel so much taller! Taller is always better.  Now I just need to get my new pillows sewn.

In the evening after the little one went to bed this week, I began refinishing a small Goodwill end table ($7.99 Goodwill Find) to work with the new colors in our living room.
I had already sanded down the top, but still needed to strip the paint from the edge.  I’ll share what I used in another post.  I really liked the product!
Tonight I thought I would just share the end results!  I am in love with this color!  CeCe Caldwell’s Destin Gulf Green (over Virginia Chestnut).  Clear wax and aging cream.
I love the table with my new bowl too!  That was a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law.  It’s a hand painted bowl from Turkey…yes the country.  They are currently living over seas.  I will be glad to have them back in the states this summer, but I will miss the wonderful unique gifts the have given me for birthdays and holidays.
I left the hardware in it’s original state.
I really liked the antiqued brass with the teal blue.
Good Night for now!
Ciao – Kellie

Oh my goodness, your end table wound up next to my linky at The Shabby Creek Cottage and so glad I saw this — I LOVE the blue color! That's the exact blue that's my obsession right now. Next weekend I'm painting a closet nook that color. Your table redo is gorgeous! One of my coworkers keeps showing up at work with beautiful clothes/accessories from Goodwill – if they have things like this for $7.99, I'm SO GOING to Goodwill this weekend.

Thanks for your kind comments! Good luck on the closet painting! Sounds like a fun look. Goodwill – go often! Sometimes the prices are sky high, other times you get lucky. This was one of my better finds! Happy Hunting!

Thanks DeDe! Hopped over and shared. Thanks for the invite! Followed your rules. Thanks again!

  • The table is gorgeous! Such a perfect color, and the stained top looks wonderful. Our Goodwill store here in Kansas are the same. Sometimes I find INCREDIBLE dealhen but then I can go weeks without finding anything nice or reasonably priced. I love your blog. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us! – Dez

The the rehang of the "Family Tree". Gives me ideas.

Of course, the table redo with Ce Ce Caldwell paint is wonderful. My new favorite color, Destin Gulf Green. Great job. Someday I plan to visit your booth, we live in Lebanon and have booths in Lebanon, Lafayette, and Crawfordsville.

    Have a God Filled Day

love it Kellie! This is the combo I'm doing on my console table. Where did you get the pillow adj to your table? I would love to bring those colors into my house!

  • The Paupers Castle

Thanks Shelly! Can't wait to see what you do. It's always beautiful! I got the pillows from Pier 1 about 2 weeks ago. They match the fabric I am going to recover a chair in. They were on clearance, better run! I bought the last 2 in Indianapolis. They are sold out online! I fell in love with them!

Glad to inspire! Isn't that color Yummy! I am in love with the brighter pops of color that are coming for spring! Sounds like you keep very busy with your spaces! Enjoy your weekend!
