Oh My Gosh it’s almost October!

I’m not really sure where my summer has gone!  It seems like June 4th hit (the day of the Preeclampsia Promise Walk) and summer took off in a sprint and I am still jogging to cool down!  We have been UNBELIEVABLY busy this summer.  Too busy! We were out of town 10 of the weekends this summer and if we weren’t out of town, we had out of town guests.

I have been behind on everything the last month and I am finally starting to dig out and slow down.  It has been over a month since I posted anything and sadly to say….you haven’t missed hardly an projects!  I have been so busy catching up on house cleaning, working my other FT/PT job as a marketing manager, errands, yard work (more Mr. T than me) and getting our daughter back in the routine of school, that I just haven’t had that much time for anything else.  I did however manage to get a small end table completed and up to the booth 2 weeks ago!  I am currently working on a buffet and dresser. I hope to have them done by this weekend. So for now here are some pics of the night stand and I hope to have more to share soon! I call it my “Wordy Night Stand”.

The top has been painted in chalk board paint.
If you look closely, the draw front and the shelves have subtle writing on them….words of love!

I started out with the entire drawer front covered in the type set.  Then I decided I didn’t like it.  So I painted over it.  However, when I started to sand and distress the type set started showing through.  I liked the randomness of this and decided to add it to the shelves too.  Not too shabby for a mistake!  What do you think?

If you noticed the chair in the pic….I got 4 of these babies at the goodwill for $20.00 (unfortunately at the beginning of summer).  I plan to refinish them and use them in my kitchen. Now if only I could get an extra 5 hours a day to get everything done that I would like to get done!

On a personal note to add to our chaotic summer, we got a new kitten over Labor Day weekend…she is SOOO cute, can’t wait to share pics. Thank you Dad for bringing her to us, because one more trip away from home might have put me in the psych ward. And we moved my daughter to her “big girl” bed last weekend.  This went BEAUTIFULLY!  She loves it and stays in it!  God is good!

Ciao for now! Kellie
