Pottery Barn Meets Annie Sloan

I am going to keep this post short and sweet since I have lots to do to get ready for family
coming in a couple of days, but I wanted to share the final piece with you.

If you read my blog regularly, you know that Mr. T found a fabulous Pottery Barn table and chair set at the Goodwill earlier this summer.  Well I finally finished the darn thing!  I think it turned out FANTASTIC!  The person that ends up with this table is going to get a fabulous piece of furniture at a severely discounted price.  When Mr. T purchased this, it still had the original price tags attached.  The entire set totaled just over $1300.00.
Here is what it looked like before!  Can I just tell you….who ever owned this previously really needed to learn how to clean!  It was the nastiest, dirtiest thing (especially when you think about eating off of it) that I have EVER seen.  I think I spent more time cleaning it than I did painting it.
If you notice, the chair in the back needed a bit of help from Mr. T, the cross bars on the bottom of the chair were missing. So he replaced that with new wood.  Other than that and the DIRT, this piece was still very solid, just very DISTRESSED…and not in a good way!
Here is what it looks like now.
This is without the leaf in

I think Pottery Barn and Annie Sloan make a very nice pair!  What do you think?
Happy Holidays!
Kellie
