My new FAVORITE product

“Ding”, “Ding”, “Ding”….CONGRATULATIONS….You are number 1000!

I was so excited….not for me, but for her.  I know this is a HUGE milestone, so I decided to leave a comment and congratulate her on this.  Now, let me preface this….I wasn’t “fishing” for a gift, I really was happy for her!  But she decided to “reward” me for being number 1000!  Boy, am I glad she did!  Sara is a distributor for Shaklee products (at the time, I had never heard of them).

She sent me an email offering me several products.  I originally thought I would get the hand creme.  One can never have too much hand creme, right? But after spending some time on her blog she kept referencing a product called “Basic H”.

This was one of my options to pick from, so I did a total 360 (getting something to pamper myself, to getting a cleaning product).  That choice was truly the best choice I could have made. This product has changed my life!

Changed my life?  How could a cleaning product change someone’s life?  Really?  Well I am about to tell you.

We have black appliances in our kitchen (which I love), but they are like trying to keep a black car clean….it NEVER happens….especially with a 2 and a half year old!  There are always finger prints on the front of my fridge and smears across the front of the stove.  And when I do clean them (every other day), they still don’t look clean.  They are full of steaks unless I spend some time “waxing on, and waxing off” to remove the steaks. Our stove is a double oven with the glass top.  This oven and I have had a love:hate relationship since we bought it 3 years ago.  Love the double ovens…hate the glass top.  Why…because it’s a pain to clean!  Not anymore!!!! 

Basic H comes in a concentrate that you mix in 3 different spray bottles.  One for windows, one for all-purpose and one to degrease.  It’s been around for 50 years and it is completely non-toxic, which means it safe to use around my 2 year old (now she can help clean windows, fridges and stoves) and cats.

I also received a “bonus” product called scour off!  Love this one too.  I get to that later.

Basic H glass cleans my fridge BEAUTIFULLY!  It leaves the front streak free without polishing for hours (windex couldn’t do that).  Basic H All-purpose is scent free (well the others are too since they come from the same concentrate) and cleans the inside perfectly.  I don’t like chemical or flowery smells in the fridge….just doesn’t seem right with the food!  Basic H Degreaser ended the Love:Hate relationship with the stove.  I can finally get it clean without streaks or a 15 minute “wax on, wax off” scrub session. For the food that gets a little baked on the stove top….SCOUR OFF!  Two seconds with this and follow up with the Basic H degreaser and you have a stove that is showroom perfect!

 PS-I used the Scour Off in my stainless steal sink, it removed a rust stain that had been in my sink since we moved in (7 years ago).  It cleans our fiber glass tub and shower perfectly!  The only thing that has cleaned these to my standard so far…Mr. Clean Eraser and at $2.00 each (because if you have used them, you know they are really only good for one cleaning)…cleaning the tub and shower becomes expensive.

PSS–When I got it in the mail, I had an extra 20 min before I could pick up my daughter from school.  I was late picking her up because I was having so much fun cleaning!  Sick… I know.

I also called my husband on the way home that day to share with him what Sara had sent me…when I told him…his response….”OH NO! Not Basic H….I thought I was rid of that stuff!  Growing up it was Basic H this, Basic H that”  Turns out my mother-in-law used it when he was a kid.  It has been around for 50 years!  Now you know it’s good!
