Workshop space, shoppe overhaul and a “Frenchy” chest

If you remember from one of my previous posts, in January 2013, we will finally have a space to hold our CeCe Caldwell’s Painting Workshops.  

I am so excited I can hardly stand it.  

The owner of Main Street Shoppes, has been more than accommodating in trying to help us make this work.  We still have some work to do, but hopefully by January 12th, this space will look entirely different.  As promised here are some pictures of our space to be.

This is just something I threw together to let everyone shopping the mall know that Workshops are coming.  

We don’t “officially” rent the space yet, so I had to keep it to a minimum!

This is what the space looks like currently.  

Soon this 8 x 28 foot space will look a whole lot different.

Until then, I have lots of planning, painting and sewing to do!

Two weekends ago, we did a complete overhaul on our little space at the mall.  We pulled everything off the pegboard walls and covered them with burlap.  I REALLY like the neutral backdrop this has created as well as removing all those busy little holes.

This past weekend, we restocked ALL colors on our CeCe Caldwell’s Chalk & Clay Paint.  We also restocked ALL our sample size paints.  WOW!  That was some work pouring, labeling and pricing all of those.  Previously we had our samples stored in a large picnic basket.  You had to dig to find what you were looking for.  Not anymore.  We now have a dedicated bookshelf!  So much nicer.

This will make shopping more enjoyable for our customers and more enjoyable for Todd and I when we need to take inventory for restocking!

We also added this beautiful French Provincial lingerie chest.

It didn’t start out so pretty!

The top is made of laminate with a wood trim.  Kind of strange. The bottom had been wet at one time so the gold had turned green and the drawers needed a bit of repair, but it was still a solid piece.

I painted it in a base coat of CeCe Caldwell’s Vermont Slate and then color washed over that with Smoky Mountain and Alaskan Tundra Green.  This picture is the closest to showing the true color.  The others look much more gray than what it is in person. 

We will blame the florescent lighting.
