Labor Day Demo and Sale Update

WOW!  I can’t believe how busy the mall was on Sept 1st and how many people came out for the demo with CeCe Caldwell’s Paint! Thank you so much for your support!  I got to meet a lot of really nice people and share a lot of really good information!
If you came out and chatted with me….thank you!
Turns out, it was a record breaking day for the mall.  Roger (the owner) said they set the record for number of items ever sold in one day at the mall.  I believe it!  The line was constant and long at that! Here is a picture I snapped!  This seemed to be the theme of the day!  I love it when it’s busy!  It’s great for everyone!
I thought I would share the piece I was working on for the demo.  This is a piece that Roger had picked up at auction!  It was in R-O-U-G-H shape!
I washed the piece in TSP-PF and then got to work.
One coat of Alaskan Tundra Green.
Dark spots are the paint drying
Then I color washed over it with Kentucky Mint
And sealed it with clear wax, aging wax and satin finish.  I added the satin finish so that the piece would be washable.  You can wash a waxed piece, but if this ends up in a kitchen you are going to want to be able to scrub it and not worry about ruining the finish.
The inside before it was painted with one coat of Johnston Daffodil
 The inside after
Much nicer!
And the final product….
This piece has some really Y-U-M-M-Y texture!
I was only suppose to be there from 11-3, but ended up being there until close and had to go back on Sunday and Monday to finish it up.  I guess I under estimated this project! 🙂
None the less, I had a blast and met some really neat people in the process!
Ciao for now! Kellie
